Language development: a never-ending process

Language develops in a similar way to all other functions, according to the same schemes proposed by Bronfenbrenner and Gottlieb.

From the birth of an individual, different "combinations" must be present for him to learn to speak: brain development, listening to the language of an adult, learning to use his own articulatory system, voice development, socialization and cooperation with adults . Returning to the schemes mentioned above, we see how, according to Bronfenbrenner, there are increasingly external systems around the individual which, with their characteristics, influence and direct his development in an increasingly global manner. What Gottlieb added is that these systems and the state of the individual at any moment (genetic, neural, behavioral and environmental activity) constantly and mutually influence each other. The chronosystem indicates precisely this continuous evolution over time. And this is why even if a person reaches 30 years of age, the development of language, or even the acquisition of new declensions, new words, never stops, because these patterns accompany the individual throughout his or her life.
