The role of the Osteopath in pitch management

The fundamental frequency (F0) represents the number of times the vocal cords vibrate per second. It reflects the biomechanical characteristics of the vocal cords and their interaction with subglottic pressure, providing essential clinical insights into their condition and behavior.

In this analysis, it is crucial to also consider the behavior of anchoring and mobilization structures, as well as the physiological and/or pathophysiological relationships that influence biomechanical variations.

Osteopathic evaluation plays a key role in this process by facilitating laryngeal manipulation for rebalancing, helping to place the vocal instrument in optimal working conditions. This approach always respects the patient’s potency and follows the vocal framework defined by Hirano and Colton.
