The voice is not just sound production: it is a complex system involving posture, breathing, balance, myofascial chains, and muscle tone. Physical preparation therefore becomes a fundamental pillar for anyone performing on a demanding stage such as the Ariston.
Postural alignment: the foundation of free vocal emission
To allow the voice to flow freely, the body must be:
aligned
elastics
table
The work includes releasing the myofascial chains, especially:
the deep anterior chain
the lingual chain
the cervical and thoracic regions
An aligned body allows for broader breathing and a freer larynx.
Functional strengthening and endurance
A professional singer needs a body “trained like that of an athlete.” Recommended exercises include:
core stability
pelvic floor training for more efficient support
respiratory training with specific tools
exercises to improve endurance during movement
A strong body prevents sudden overloads and supports the voice in the most critical moments.
Daily routine in the weeks leading up to the Festival
To arrive at peak condition:
daily stretching of the diaphragm, psoas, and anterior chains
rib cage and cervical mobility
moderate aerobic activity
constant hydration
The result is a more responsive, stable body, ready for live performance.
