To effectively manage a Vocal Artist, it is first necessary to establish clear communication by defining specific goals, requesting regular performance updates, and ensuring that all identified strategies necessary for proper vocal biomechanics are correctly applied. This involves coordinating with the Artist’s key collaborators (ENT specialist, vocal coach, speech therapist, physiotherapist, personal trainer, sound engineer). It is important to build a supportive and trusting relationship in which the Artist feels safe in their vulnerability, while also ensuring that constructive feedback is both provided and received—focusing on structure and function, artistic needs, and the Artist’s overall development.
When setting clear and measurable goals for vocal growth, it's essential to monitor the biomechanical control of breathing both at rest and during phonation, the management of vocal range, and the use of a specific musical style.
Open communication with the Artist allows for a continuous flow of information between them, the aforementioned professionals, and their management team. This also requires regular updates on the Artist's progress and any challenges they may face.
Lastly, it is crucial to ensure access to the appropriate and necessary equipment for therapeutic support.
