Osteopathy and Musicians #4: Bad environmental conditions

Osteopathy and Musicians #4: Bad environmental conditions

Often the musician is not aware of the effect of environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity or acoustics on his performance and health. For example, excessive cold makes fine finger movements difficult, heating and air conditioning dry out the mucous membranes of singers and wind instrumentalists and, if they perform or rehearse outdoors, in noisy or acoustically poor quality, they do not allow you to hear the sound emitted correctly: you may play or sing at higher volumes than usual.

What to do

Try, if possible, to verify and improve environmental conditions and, if this is not possible, intensify all preventive measures.
