Osteopathy and singing

Osteopathy helps singers by improving vocal quality and endurance while reducing the risk of vocal injuries through laryngeal and musculoskeletal assessments and manual techniques. It also addresses poor posture, muscular imbalances, and inefficient respiratory support, helping singers perform more efficiently, prevent fatigue, and recover from vocal strain. Voice-focused osteopathy is often carried out in collaboration with vocal coaches, ENT specialists, phoniatrists, speech therapists, and physiotherapists to provide a holistic approach to the singer's health and performance.

Reducing musculoskeletal tension in the neck, shoulders, and jaw—especially by rebalancing biomechanical systems—enhances vocal quality and endurance. Osteopathic manipulative techniques address imbalances throughout the body’s systems, from foot alignment to the thoraco-diaphragmatic system and core-link, all the way to the vocal tract. These imbalances can cause vocal tension, fatigue, or loss of range. This holistic approach promotes overall well-being and can prevent injuries, allowing singers to perform with greater ease and control.
